A panel discussion examined the work of African American media mogul Tyler Perry, one of Hollywood’s leading box-office performers, during a symposium at Northwestern on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

Moderated and organized by Miriam Petty, assistant professor of Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University, the panel included speakers Mark Anthony Neal (Duke University), Racquel Gate (CUNY College of Staten Island), Daniel Black (Clark-Atlanta University), Brittney Cooper (Rutgers University), and E. Patrick Johnson (Northwestern University).
